Dear HIMSS Virginia Chapter Members,

As we enter the 2027 Term Year, I want to share my appreciation for the dedication, collaboration, and momentum that continues to define our chapter. Virginia is home to some of the most innovative healthcare organizations in the country, and our strength comes directly from the members who choose to engage, volunteer, and help shape the future of health information and technology across the Commonwealth.

This year, our chapter goals center on connection, leadership, and strategic growth:
• Connecting with our Organizational Affiliates to strengthen relationships, expand engagement, and ensure our programming reflects the needs of healthcare systems across the state.
• Growing our leadership through committees, with a special focus on communications. We are actively seeking volunteers who enjoy outreach, storytelling, social media, or helping elevate our chapter’s voice statewide.
• Focusing on strategic growth within Virginia, including increasing our social presence, building partnerships with other professional organizations, and keeping our members’ needs at the center of everything we do.
