A Message from Virginia HIMSS President
Virginia HIMSS Community,
Welcome to another great year for the HIMSS Virginia Chapter! It has been an honor to serve on the board for the past four years. I’m excited and ready to officially be stepping into the role of President of this great chapter.
Our chapter is 2,400+ members strong. We are at the forefront of healthcare’s transformation and are a community focused on shaping the future of health information and technology. I am eager to build upon the great foundation that the presidents and fellow board members have built before me and am ready to further infuse energy, fun and excitement as we showcase the innovative things happening in healthcare and within our HIMSS Virginia community.
As I look to the year ahead, the best way to get involved is through the many events we have in the works. This includes several networking opportunities, Special Interest Group (SIG) specific events like our Data & Analytic Symposium our Annual Fall Conference and more. Learn more here and I look forward to seeing all of you soon –https://vahimss.org/events/
I could not do this without a great team around me. We have a great mix of experienced HIMSS Virginia board members like Leigh Williams (President-Elect), Collin Stoddard (Sponsorship Chair), Mike Canfield (Past-President), Reuben Southall (OA Liaison) and more. We are also excited to welcome several new members who are introducing fresh and innovative ideas to our chapter. This includes Ian Mack (Communications Chair), Erin Trost (Security SIG Chair), Kyle Wiggins (Membership Chair) and Trip Humphrey (AI SIG Chair). I hope you will get the opportunity to meet each and every one of them.
Thank you again for this great opportunity. Here’s to making this year a memorable one! See you all soon!
Thomas West
